Now obviously I wasn't there.... but I watched pretty much the whole damn thing! I'm exhausted right now and more will come, but for now I have a few observations...
1) Who the hell do they get to do the interviews on these live streaming things. Emphasis on the "Live" - as in if you fuck up, you can NOT take it back. The myspace.com people called Gil Birmingham's character Billy Buck, several times - TO GIL'S FACE!!! And then, as Tinsel Korey came up to their podium, they were actually saying "Here comes Christian Serratos!!" and you just knew it was all going wrong from there. Poor Tinsel. She ended up walking away looking a little cross and more than a little confused. And the E! Online guys? Okay, so they're kinda cute, but they clearly have no idea how to fill dead air. However, I loved their ploy to to get Rob talking for more than their 2 question limit. They just turned their back on his publicist!! NICE! Props for that.
2) STOP interviewing people who have no interest in The Twilight Saga and who are clearly just there for the free publicity. I know there were a few who were just joking around with the "why are we here again?" spiel, but some people genuinely had no clue about the books or the movies or anything. KNOW YOUR AUDIENCE!!! And audience - KNOW YOUR FILM!!!!
3) Rob was very lovely with the fans. I know they're all pretty good and I remember my experience with him at the New Moon Fan Event last November was the same (although he was being rushed much more in the UK) but he's so great and takes time to sign, take photos etc. Makes me so wish I had been there.
